LI1718 Memory Upgrade Question

Postby Ryatzu » Tue Oct 14, 2008 9:18 pm

Hello,

I got a LI1718 with 1 gb of memory.
Now, ive heard that some people had some trouble upgrade to 2gb.
That only 1 of the 2 could be recognized.

But i also heard that some people got it working.
My question is, could someone tell be what memory they used to get 2gb working?

And will this memory do the trick?

I know it's dutch but it's readable.
I realy need a good answer, i can't just buy them and return them if they won't work.

Thank you.

According to the specs of your notebook 2GB will work.
But RAM is always a little tricky. There might be incompatibilities between the modules and the main board or even between the modules itself.
To reduce this risk we recommend to buy modules of brands that are known to be reliable. These brands are MDT, Kingston and Samsung.
So the module you linked is just what we would recommend. But even with these modules we cannot guarantee that it will work (only chances are good).
If you want to be absolutely sure you will have to carry your notebook to a local store and let them upgrade your RAM.

500mhz or 667 mhz?

Atm the notebook uses 500mhz

Your chipset supports both, 533 and 667MHz.
I would recommend 667MHz. It's slightly faster (but most likely you will not recognize it) and the modules are cheaper.
