Possibility for 1200 x 768? (Amilo M 1420)

Postby blaabjerg » Wed Oct 15, 2008 4:15 pm

I have recently had to reinstall my laptop and at the same time lost all my drivers. By now everything seems to work ok, but the maximal wdth is now limited to 1024 pixels, and there are only two possibilities, the other being 640 pixels. Can anybody tell me, where to find the appropriate driver?

I guess you installed Windows XP.
If this is right then go to the FSC drivers site, enter your notebook model and download the drivers:
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/downloads.html

You should follow this installation order to make sure that everything works correctly:
- chipset
- graphics
- audio
- modem
- all the rest

I tried to follow the advice, and many thanks for that. However I was halted, because some of the zipped files were protected by passwords (the graphics package), and of course I have no clue to to know, what these passwords should be. So I'm stuck. Can anybody perhaps help me here?

The archives are not password-protected. Maybe your download is corrupted.
Download the trouble-causing files again.

This is the md5sum of the graphics archive if you want to check it (assuming that my download is intact):

The archive as such is perhaps not, but some of the files seems to be. It is when I try to run Setup.exe that I am stopped. try to run setup.exe

Do you run setup with administrator privileges?
Sorry, I can't run the setup right now since I have no Windows here. Which error messages do you get?

What about the md5sum? Does it match with yours?

I tried to follow the advice from before a second time, just like before, but using a different download folder. This time everyhing worked fine, so the graphics display is now ok. Now th oenly thing that does'nt work is the in-built wireless connection. This problem is not so serious, as I'm using a D-link-adapter instead, which works fine. But I would like to be able to use the in built wireless connection as well. Which of the drivers should I use then, and how? Can you tell me that? :)

I would suggest to use this one.
There should be an executable inside the archive. Just run it and it should work.
