Hi I have a problem witch my amilo my power unit got broke and it got lost in the post. So i need a new unit but nowhere in poland i can't gat an identical that i lost i can only a power unit for a nec that has the same pins and the same voltages because on my old unit there was 20V 8A and this one is also like that but it has the 160W but i don"t reacall how much it was on the old unit. Here is a photo of the nec unit and i would like to know ifi can use it witch my amilo and if it is safe.

I see there's no answer so I try to say at least something ;-)
160 W is more than enough, so that won't be a problem. Polarity and voltage has to be correct, then it should be no problem.

Just found this forum (and this post/topic).

I'd say You can easily hook that PSU up to your A1630 - that NEC PSU is exactly the same as the A1630 PSU that I've got.
Down to the modelno.

That also means that I wouldn't say 160W is more than enough - I'd say it's just enough :) (my PSU certainly gets HOT when the laptop is on full load for an extended period of time).
