CPU upgrade on AMILO Pro V2045

Postby bobcojr » Mon Oct 20, 2008 4:39 pm

Hello, I need some advice as I've decided to upgrade my CPU on Amilo Pro V2045. Configuration: Pentium M 1.73GHz, 2048MB DDR2, 80GB SATA (so far, I consider to buy new 320GB 7200rpm 16MB cache). I don't have any information what CPU can I install on my motherboard neither what MB I have. So any information is welcome! Thnx.

You can install any Pentium M, up to 780 (2.26GHz).

Is it possible to install any dual-core CPU or just Pentium "M"? Does my MB support that?

Your main board has socket 479 but Core (2) Duo is only available for sockets M and P.
Socket 479 supports Intel Celeron M and Pentium M & VIA 7 and 8 (which are slower and most likely not supported by your bios).
The fastest compatible CPU for your architecture is the Celeron M 780.
