sorry to be a pain...

but thanks for all your help, my brother came along after one try he managed to do it (FYI: i was amazed to find countless number of hairs under the keyboard, due to the stress this has caused me (or the hair loss phase im going through *lol)) but its all sorted now...

... however, he has now gone out and i have just upgraded the RAM lets hope there is no problems with that stick now...

if any one else has the same problem i had, my brother said before he went, the left hinge/latch by caps lock wasn't budging so he wiggled the one by F1 F2 and the keyboard popped up..

Thanks for your help once again :)

I am glad it worked: Here is the post I wrote so I post it anyway for others to read...

I started out with the latch between page up and page down. Then when you get the lactch free you can move the paperclip keeping it under the keyboard in the direction of the latch at num lock providing upward pressure - then release the second latch - and so on. You have to hold the lach upward all the time to prevent the previous latch to click back in.

If you have a problem with the page dowm latch clicks back in when moving the paperclip you can experiment with two clips. One staying at page down - and one moving around. But I managed with one paperclips. There might not be room for two clips in the beginning.

The key to success is upward pressure when pressing the latches in - otherwise they wont click the keyboard free.

PS Remember to test the ram before clicking the keyboard back in
