HI all, so I got an answer from another owner at fixya.com so here goes
After you remove the lid for the battery (3 srews) you need to remove the other side about half a dozen srews , dont forget there are two on the side beside the ports at the back. Gently prise off the cover working from the battery side towards the dvd rom. Now at the Dvd rom side you may still feel some resistance this is due to double sided sticky tape, gently but firmly lever your way along this edge it will come off. Once they are removed you will see the steel plate that covers most of the board, Again gently but firmly pull the Dvd rom from it's housing it connects at the rear of the rom to the m/board, after this has been removed you will see a screwe at the front edge of the rom housing remove this screw , you should now be able to jiggle this plate form the laptop and the m/board is now exposed
Hope this helps
P.S. in the end I scraped mine for parts
