[ Amilo li1718] Keyboard/ touchopad problems

Postby iie » Mon Nov 24, 2008 3:43 pm

Hello

My FSC is amilo li1718, I have a problem with my keyboard and touchpad, when I'm using touchpad, I often loose control on it, cursor is getting crazy and it move very fast, its jumping from one point to another. Similar situation come up with keyboard, when I use touchpad, my keyboard ( from time to time ) stops respoding. Problems dissapear when I'm using external mouse.

Try the hardware reset (see FAQ) and check if there's a newer driver for your touchpad.

And where exactly should I look for driver for touchpad/ keyboard? I couldn't find it on FSC homepage. I think that hardware reset gives me nothing, becouse I have similiar situation with older mainboard ( it crashed and I change it for a new one )

If it is a Synaptics touchpad, then try this one: http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers/
At least I found some Linux log files which suggest that the Li 1718 has a Synaptics touchpad - or compatible.

it didn't help, I have been testing driver whole day, still from time to time one of devices is "freezing", however driver is working properly ( and more, it answers my question how to disable touchpad = ) )

any other suggestions ?

I've solved this problem, well hard to define it as a solution but still, it works. After I changed CPU from celeron m to core 2 duo t5300 I don't have any problems with touchpad and keyboard. I don' know why :)
