M4438g display problem

All kinds of problems or malfunctions without known reason. Also general problems with the notebook as a whole.

M4438g display problem

So when I close my lid, display won't go off. Could this be due to some driver issue or what?

I installed Windows XP from different cd than original (which came with my laptop). I have installed latest chipset drivers from intel and my display drivers are 167.26 with modded inf file.

Maybe the switch is broken. If you let Windows activate standby when closing the lid (energy options, I think...), does this work?

Thank you, didn't thought that. And no, it doesn't work. Where the heck is that switch anyway, I can't seem to find it...
