[pa3515] Wireless Network Adapter Problem

Postby black87 » Thu Dec 18, 2008 6:03 am

Hi there!

I recently bought a new Amilo Pa 3515 and installed Vista on it. After finishing the hunt for drivers on the net (with my desktop pc), I thought I was finally able to enjoy it to it's fullest. To make it better yesterday I bought a Wi-Fi router, and after setting it up correctly I tried connect to it.
Now the problem is this: when I triy to connect to the router I get the message "Windows can not find any networks". The Diagnostics show this:

So I go to Device Manager and see this:

As you can see (or can not) there is no Wireless Network Adapter. I got over to the site of Fujitsu-Siemens and found several WLAN drivers for pa3515 there, but none of them seem to work. (I have no clue about the other problematic devices).

The other missing device(s) is the cardreader. But it's not the reason for the missing WLAN.

Did you try the drivers from the FSC site?:

Which one? Because there are four different.

I'm not sure. I would try one after another.

Hmm, dunno how but the second driver solved the problem. The funny thing is that it still shows up as Atheros Wi-Fi adapter.

Anywayz, thanks for your help hikaru! I think the problem is solved (for) now! :D

One more note on this: as I said, I tried several drivers, one of them being the RaLink Wireless adapter one. After thinking the problem was solved, I boldly uninstalled this driver. You can guess what happened: the adapter disappeared from the Device Manager. It seems like BOTH the RaLink and the Realtek drivers are needed.

RaLink: FSC_WN6600RminiCardWLANIEEE80211bg

If someone has an explanation for this I would be glad to hear it
(but of course it works fine :D)
