Problem with Amilo xi1554 with Vista ultimate 64bit

Postby vsv » Tue Dec 23, 2008 11:01 am

Hi

First of all excuse my English. Hope you will understand my problem and help me solving it.
The machine is bought originally with Vista home premium 32. I have changed my Os to ultimate 64. The problem that I have is minor but quite irritating. I have problem with the sound which is lagging when I even move the cursor or make something with some other tool or program. The mouse cursor is stopping while moving. It's movement on the screen is not accurate. My supposition is that there is some driver installation problem, maybe something is missing or not properly installed. I guess that there could be some problem with the ride controller or with the video driver. On the Fujitsu Siemens site is mentioned that the hardware isn't tested on Ultimate but how there could be such difference in the behaviour of the laptop. Anyway there is a problem and I'll be grateful if someone could help me solve it.

Best wishes for the holidays
V~

I guess your problem is not Ultimate but 64bit. Why did you change to 64bit?
Can you please post a screenshot of your device manager (everything expanded)?

Here it is

I haven't changed the OS by myself. A friend of mine suggested me to changed it and he install it for me. I'm just a user. ;)
If the problem is in the 64bit OS there is only one way for solving the problem...

Hope there is still some other solution for the problem because I have already synchronize the new OS and all programs, mails and cet. It will be unpleasant regress if I have to do all the procedure once again.

According to the device manager everything looks good.
However, 64bit systems are always tricky since they often cause driver problems. One driver alone may work correctly but since 64bit are still a bit exotic, there might be untested interferences between different drivers.
So if you don't have any applications that require 64bit (you know it, if it's like that) you should switch to a 32bit system again.
