Hi all i have amilo pi 3540 with 4 GB ram but my Windows XP Profesional SP 3 recognize only 3GB, can someone tell me what i have to the windows to recognize 4 GB.
hmmm.... i think that the maximum addressable memory in 32 bit os i 4 gb, and in the 64 bit os is gb, but i have 32 bit windows xp and it recognize only 3 gb. i think that it can use the and the other 1 gb.
You can't use the whole 4GB with a 32bit Windows since the 4GB maximum addressable RAM include the AGP aperture size. This has to be subtracted from the 4GB to get the amount of RAM that is actually available.
You will have to use another OS to use 4GB of RAM. Why do you need 4GB of RAM?
No, I'm asking you why you need 4GB. 64bit systems often cause driver problems but won't give you any advantages unless you have software that requires 64bit or you use several applications in parallel that need more than 3GB total.
