upgrading RAM to 2GB and more AMILO 1845D

Postby venkat75 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:58 am

Hi,
I have bought a fujitsu amilo 1845D laptop around 3 years back and with cooling pad, it works really excellent to me. No problems at all for any kind of operating systems. But, only draw back I found in it is 1GB ram. I have 1 GB ram installed, hence no issues.

Now I would like to upgrade to 4GB , I know in the specifications, it says it doesnt support. What are the otherways, so that I can install atleast minimum 2GB ram on my machine.

CPU : 3.33ghZ, Intel Pentium processor
RAM : 1GB
OS : Windows XP Professional

Is there anyway, without changing the LAPTOP completely, I can achieve this. any tricks and tracks. !! it has 2 slots which has 512MB ram in each.

Cheers

I think 2 gb is the maximum you can hope for - but I couldn't find a report that confirms 2 x 1 gb to work.

Hi Guys, ,
I have had an amilo A1650 for just over 5 years and last year increased the ram in my machine.

I changed out the 2 x 512 modules for 2 x 1gb modules very successfully , despite fsc confirming it would only sit with a maximum of 1gb.

The 2gb is working beautifuly and no problems whatsover since upgrading it. The only thing i will insist on though is , , , you MUST install a matching pair of modules !
Hope this helps , good luck
