FSC Amilo Xa2528 - Problems

Postby Affi » Wed Jan 21, 2009 5:18 pm

First of all I am posting this topic in general, due to I have a few problems I would like answered!

I am happy owner of a FSC Amilo XA2528 Laptop.
As i thought MS VISTA was making the Laptop too slow, I downgraded my MS VISTA to MS XP.

Now I have been searching a lot on the web, about driver's and etc.
I have managed to install; Audio, graphic and etc. etc.

My problem is that I cannot connect to the Internet???
Even if I use the WLAN & LAN-drivers in the drivers-packages around the Internet, it doesn't help. As far as I am concerned it is a simple Amilo Xa 2528.

It is quiet irritating that I cannot use the WLAN or LAN. Nevertheless I don't know which program to use the integrated Webcam.

Could anyone in here help me with a guide/driver's package or something that could get me back on track so that I can use Internet Explorer on my Xa2528?

Are there unknown devices in the device manager?

Yes, It the RAID-Controller & USB-Device are marked with questionmarks.

Do you know what LAN-device & WLAN-device is in the computer?? Then I could try to download them :(

if you've udpated the bios manually by youself, LAN could possibly not working. Try recover the old bios or update it again. My Xi2550 had encountered the same problem after I updated the bios.

The bios to the xa2528 really sucks... I have double boot, same thing in XP as in Vista. Playing a game, suddenly, computer clocks down, like 5 frames per second, and my computer guy dies because I cant do anything proper, with that frame rate.
First, goes well, suddenly, clocks down, and the after that, the fan speed increases. It seems as if the first action the computer does when temp increase is to clock down. after that, the fan starts.
It is a terrible computer for gaming, because of a very stupid BIOS.
I will modify BIOS myself, which is very risky. But why have a coputer with good graphics if I cant use it?
