Hi ow thats odd the 1Gb is still missing, but congrats to you x64 success , maybe there is also a flag for windows installer like for linux, this could help ppl install x64 windows without loosing warranty (maybe), well ill be googling around a way to assign hdd activity to warning battery led (the red one) ill post back if i found something interesting (because i really miss the HDD activity on my front pane, i had installed some hdd indicator thingy, but having some 5x5 px are on my desktop flashing instead of LED doesn't have the effect

if you want to install a 64 bit Unix OS you have to type "mem=4096m" in the Kernel Boot Options on starting the System (uses Grub if allready installed).

An other alternative is to remove one of the two 2Gig memorys. This is essential anyway if you want to install a stable Win x64 system on the Amilo and you can not finshed the setup process without a reboot. After you have installed the windows system you can restrict the memory by the "msconfig" tool to an value of 4095 (msconfig -> Start -> Extended Options (Sry, I'm using a german translated system) -> max memory)

Ideas about LAN card drivers, etc. are wrong. FSC designed the Amilo Pi3540 with an incorrect memory controller! The device reports wronge values to the OS. I'll hope the FSC support will fix this some day.

Hi guys, i just wanted to let you all know, that new bios (1.09c) is out, but this update doesn't solve any of our x64 problems (at least not mine) thats too bad

EDIT: And also i have some new info, about that 1GB of ram missing even when u have x64 OS, this happens only when we fix the memory size (boot flag/ or msconfig) i managed to have latest ubuntu x64 running stable for about 10 minutes without the boot flag, ubuntu recognized 3.8GB of ram, so this is what we should have (at least i think so)

last month my computer began to shut down unexpectedly with vista and ubuntu 32 bits ! So I called the support and I send my computer !
They seted up the v1.09 of the bios (not 1.09c !!!). this versions had fixed my problem, but the best is that today I tried to install Windows 2008 server 64 bit and ... it worked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No reboot during the setup as before and 4 giga of my memory detected !! So this is better but not perfect, my computer reboots sometimes when I use the system ! So I think I will call the support one more time !

Are you really sure that the problem has not been fixed in part with the 1.09c version ??

EDIT : my bios' version is 1.09c ! Sorry about the mistake !

Yes, no problem. Just after the setup (the setup works correctly) I had a few craches (2 or 3). But after an update of the system, it seems tu work better.

So i v solved all "my" problems yesterday, i v sold the laptop to another person which wouldn't mind this issues (an basic pc user), after 2 emails to FJS support without a reply, i don't really have days and time to solve issue caused by them, i ordered laptop from different brand on Monday, hope ill gonna have more luck this time, GL for you guys, fingers crossed

Sorry for my english, but i want to share my solution for this problem. You can install 64-bit system vith 32-bit installator (I tried this with Windows 7 and it works - I install OS without reboot) but the system sometimes reboot (about 10 minutes after boot). So you can do this: I install Ubuntu 9.10 which can adress 4 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Pro (2.9 GB can be adressed) and install 4GB patcher avaiable from here http://www.kiloupload.com/file/02f71becb7ec8f49fed722844e7fec92/4GB-7600.RTM.x86.04.08.2009.exe if all links are dead, search 4GB-7600.RTM.x86.04.08.2009 or something else in google. And Windows 7 now supports 4 and more GB of RAM, which solved my problem. No I don't have installed 64bit system, but I have 4 GB of RAM in 32bit OS. Do you get me? Bye
