Fujitsu manufacturer?

Postby KitamuraComputers » Sun Feb 22, 2009 7:52 pm

Hello everyone,

I've just won a Fujitsu Amilo Li 1818 on eBay. I've been doing a lot of research on it, but would like to find a service manual, as this is one of a few Fujitsu laptops i've never serviced. I want to fully disassemble and reassemble it when i get it, as i think the inverter's gone. It's C2D based, and will probably need a good servicing. Who manufactures the actual machine? I'm sure it isn't Fujitsu, as many other companies such as Advent, Time, Alienware and others outsource manufacturing to Taiwanese companies such as Mitac. I know most FSC laptops use Samsung panels, and others.

If anyone can help, i'd be grateful.

As far as I know most Amilo laptops are manufactured by Uniwill. But it isn't easy to get a service manual (I have none...).

Thanks Aaron. I had a feeling it was a Uniwill (Who is now part of EliteGroup, ECS) I've found out my Li 1818 *seems* to be the ECS L75II, from a manual on their site. Now the trickier bit is finding a service manual, or pulling it to bits anyway, and writing my own, which i have done in the past. I'll share it here, as and when i do!

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated! :)
