VIA AC'97 Codec Audio (WDM) PROBLEM

Postby karlc267 » Mon Feb 23, 2009 1:06 pm

Please advise...
I have a 7830, I have built and rebuilt this with XP SP2 numerous times to see if i could get some sound out of it.
The Device Manager shows the 'VIA AC'97 Codec Audio (WDM)' with a yellow explanation mark but I know I am running the latest drivers.
Audio shows 'No Audio Device'. The Mobo does not 'appear' to have blown anywhere and I have tried every driver under the sun..
Could it be that the Codec has blown on the Mobo?
All I get is: This device cannot be started (Code 10) - very vague.
Help please.
Thanks in advance.

It is possible that there's a hardware problem.
But did you already try the "hardware reset", see FAQ?

Cheers Aaron.
I would say you were right with that. I've come to a complete halt. Disappointed but there we go. I can close this down now.
I'll stick with FS though.
