disassemble F-S Amilo Li2727

Postby Calmeida » Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:32 pm

Hey folks.

Making a long story short: I need a disassemblingguide for Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Li2727. Any help out there?

I need to reset BIOS via the bios-battery.

Thanks in advance.

Making a long answer short: FSC doesn't publish any disassembling guides.

Resetting the BIOS should work via the so called hardware reset:
Remove battery and AC adapter and hold the power button for circa 15 seconds.

Hey Hikaru.

Ok, but someone out there ought to have successfully slaugthered one?

I tried that but without positive outcome. :(

What exactly is the reason that you need to reset the BIOS? Maybe there is a workaround.

Tried dualbooting Vista with Ubuntu, when removing Ubuntu I screwed up and didn't use a Vista restore to fix the MBR right away, but instead I removed the partition from within Vista and counted on being able to boot with the Vista disc later on to fix the MBR.

But, no. Just got the Grub 22 error since removing the Ubuntupartition, and no media booted as it usually does. None frome internal CD/DVD, external CD/DVD, nor any bootable media via USB-sticks. At this stage I could not access the BIOS either. And I still can not access the BIOS.

So, I removed the harddrive, accessed it in Ubuntu via another computer and cleansed the entire thing in hope of ridding myself of the Grub 22 error and being able to boot from a Vista Restore disc. No success however. It still gets Grub 22 error on that hdd, so I got a new harddrive just to try with a blank one.

But after putting it in, Vista Restore disc wont boot (As before, no media boots), and all I get is a black screen with a blinking text-input-indicator.

So, as far as I see it, my only hope for now is being able to open up the entire thing and making the BIOS reset. But, I can't open the thing up since I dont know the procedure to do it without actually slaugthering the plastic. Hence, the need of a guide.

What does it mean that you can't access the BIOS? What happens if you press F2?

What happens if you try to boot from a Live-CD via the F12-menu?
Did you try to boot a Live-CD when no HDD was inserted?

Well, it means I can not access the BIOS to make bootchanges or whatever. The BIOS-access buttons arent even displayed as before.

Nothing. No media boots, CD:s, DVD:s, USB-sticks, nothing.

No, I havent tried that. Not that I can see what it would do since it doesn't even boot with a totally fresh HDD? But I'll try it, cause I might as well try anything since I've concluded that my only hope for now is being able to open the whole thing up and resetting the BIOS that some other people has spoken about in other forums.

The only hazzle is that I don't know how to open it. Hence my request here. All in all I can open it, but I am not sure of how un-destroyed it will be afterwards. :P
