Service manual A7640

Postby laure_f_o » Sat Feb 28, 2009 5:23 pm

Hi,
Does anybody know where I can find the service or repair manual for an A7640?

How can I find out which is the manufacturer of the main board of an A7640?

Thanks.

FSC doesn't release detailed information about this. All they provide can be found here:
http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/manuals.html
Which is pretty much useless for you I guess.

As far as I know Uniwill manufactures all the boards in the Amilos. Maybe you can find some info there.

Thanks but the only option I have is try to repair by myself. I don't think it isn't worth to take it to service becuase there are better laptops at good prices.

If there is somebody who can help me to find the service manual please respond.

If you take it to bits, take your time, don't force anything, and have a good think about the structure. Watch out for plastic clips holding things together. It's the way I do disassembly. Although I have many years experience, if it's a machine I've never done, and I cannot find a manual, and self disassembly is my last resort, I study the build, and take it real easy. Breaking cabinet parts, gouging things, damaging screw covers isn't good, they've all got to be replaced if it's a customer's job, and I've got to pay for such damage!

The biggest thing is: watch where screws go. Putting too large a screw into a small hole is not good..... I can tell you many tales of amateur "qualified technicians" I've worked with.....
