Amilo M6450G RAM upgrade. Laptop won't start up

Postby stevew86 » Mon Apr 06, 2009 9:31 am

I've recently upgraded my laptop from 512MB of RAM to 2G RAM and after installing the modules and attempting to start up my laptop nothing happens. The power light comes on, along with the caps lock, num lock and scroll lock lights and the fan starts up as usual but thats it. Nothing appears on the screen and there are a few beeps, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Can any of you guys help me out? Anything you can do to try help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Reinsert the modules, try to switch the two, maybe one works standalone... trial and error :?

(Of course it is also possible that the modules are just incompatible with your laptop. Then you'd have to try another brand.)

I got it sorted, turns out i hadn't the modules seated properly. I was being too cautious when i put them in so the pins weren't making proper contact.

Thanks for yout help though, much appreciated.
