fixing a bad bios flash

Postby argh » Sun Sep 24, 2006 9:32 pm

For all of us who found out the dangers of flashing a bios after we messed it up, can anyone please help with a guide of any sort on how to fix a bad bios flash on a laptop with a soldered bios chip and no floppy drive.

can anyone tell me what BIOS file I need if I am going to either flash the bios chip or program it after a bad flash? It's for the amilo k7600, the F-S download website has different types and versions.

Hi,

Very strange you did not find the flash file on FS site. Look for exactly name of your laptop, you should find it on the list. Another option but not recommended (use it as the last thing)is to go on your mainboard manufacturer and download your file according with your type, sn, model of motherboard.
As you have the bios chip soldered will make a little bit more difficult to replace it but not impossible. Check this out: www.recoverybios.com

*of course if you are still eligible/or not for free FS support you can try there first
