Problem with amilo D1840W

Postby Nik » Sun May 24, 2009 5:17 pm

Hello!
I have a problem with my notebook, and I have been looking for the decision all over the internet, but nobody seem to have the same problem. You are my last hope.
The model of the notebook is fujitsu-siemens AmiloD1840W.
Configuration: Celeron 2.0 Ghz. 512 mb ram. HDD - 40 Gb.Videocard:ATI Radeon 9600/9700 series.
When I turn it on after a break (10-15 hours) it just stopps working, and i can't turn it off as ususal, I have to press and hold the power button to turn it off. This problem repeats 3-5 times, when I work on the notebook, connected to the power-cable, and it can repeat many times, when I work from the battery.
I have already tried to use different programs to check HDD an RAM, but they say that everything is OK. Also I tried to upgrade BIOS an format HDD, but it gave me no results.
So, what problem can it be? Please help me.
Nik

Possibly the graphics chip (or another component) gets too hot. Did you already try to remove dust etc. from the heat pipe and fan?
Monitoring the temperatures of course makes sense - if e.g. Everest detects sensors.

Yes, I have cleaned the notebook. Also I have been monitoring the temperatures of HDD and processor, by two programs:everest and notebook hardware control. Both programs give identic results. HDD:30 degrees at the start, and 40-50 after some 20 -30 minutes of work (and ,of course, after some reboots).
But the strange thing is ,that the temperature of the processor is constant - 75 degrees.
I wonder if there can be some troubles with the battery?

Then there's no (supported) sensor.

Did you try to remove and work without the battery?

Yes, I have tried to work without the battery, but the same thing occurs after some time.
