Pi 3540 keyboard/touchpad problem

Postby cTn » Sat Jun 06, 2009 8:24 pm

Hi guys, i use Latest Windows 7 build (32bit build 7201), and i am having a strange problem, when i have my touchpad enabled, and i write for example some longer message to my friends, etc, i notice that i have soooo many tipos in it, 1st time this happens i was thinking (hmm you dont even know how to type, noob..) but after 6-7 time, i started looking around what could be the problem, and i find out, if i dont disable touchpad (FN + F6) keyboard is sometimes not recognizing me typing (missing keyboard press = missing characters) when i disable touchpad everything looks how it should, i also checked to automatically disable touchpad when i connect my external mouse, (yes drivers disable my touchpad, but problem is still here, i need to disable him even if he looks disabled by FN + F6 again) this solves the problem

did any one of amilo pi 3540 users came across this thing?

Same problem here but with Linux. I just tried disabling the touch pad as you suggested (thanks) and it seems to be better now. This really sucks.

Hi people,

I've been having exactly the same problem. As soon as I install the Synaptics touchpad driver (to get features such as turning tapping off) , the keyboard becomes sluggish and skips letters when I type fast. There seems to be some conflict between the Synaptics driver and this laptop (BIOS?). I've emailed Fujtsu support a billion times and they just give me unhelpful answers. The options seem to be:

- turn off the touchpad completely and use an external mouse
- leave the touchpad on with the default driver, and try to ignore the accidental tapping!!
- install the Synaptic drivers which lets you turn off tapping, and try ignore the keyboard skipping (by typing very slowly) !!

Frankly all three choices are really awful. I'm really really upset, the laptop could have been a really good machine but it's a pain to use. I wish I could give it back and buy something that would have decent driver support from the manufacturer.

(By the way I've troubleshooted extensively and am quite sure the problem is a BIOS problem.)

I have Windows 7 on my Amilo 3540. I never installed Synapstic or something like that.
The keyboard works fine so far. :)
