Sata controller

Postby DubleG » Wed Sep 27, 2006 3:57 pm

I bought an Amilo Pi 1556/1557. I want to have WIndows XP Pro, but I cannot install it becuse it does`t find any disks. I don`t know where to find Sata controller drivers for my WDC WD120. On the CD is only a chipset driver .exe.

So can someone send me the files...

Thank you,

DG

Take a look at this: topic,81,-Pi1536-problem-with-XP-pro.html

I think the Si 1520 needs the same driver, so you could also ask grosvnor:

Hi!

So first of all, you need the right drivers. I hope you have it cuz I don`t remember where I got it.

You need a fresh copy of XP and make a image (.iso). Then google for a program that can put DRIVER files in a windows image. I think the program is WinFuture xp-Iso-Builder, A key future is: Integrate controller drivers for SATA, RAID, etc.

Than use this:

Thanks for replying DubleG. The file txtsetup.oem is not included on my driver's CD. I also download file from http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/ ... loads.html (or find please look at the attached), but here as you may see there isn't any txtsetup.oem. Where did you find yours perhaps?

Yes i did, now sorted.. got the correct txtsetup.oem or floppy drivers from fujitsu-siemens. They emailed me the link. But now am stuck with Audio drivers problem. No conflicts on device manager & no error messages when trying to install the correct drivers (Realtek HD Audio driver) shows on add or remove programs. But only Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, and Video Codecs are showing on device manager. An no sound... Tried every possible Realtek sound ever existing with no avail. Even installed the UAA Bus driver (KB888111.exe).... This notebook is a pain to run XP

Did you try to delete those things in device manager and then trying to search for new hardware?

Audio problem: Windows XP SP2

- Servicepack 2 required!

You need the right order for your driver installation:
- chipset
- KB888111
- Realtek HD Audio Codec

You must also make sure that you take the right version of KB888111:
KB888111_for_SP2 and, of course, the right language version!

You can find this update on http://fujitsu-siemens.com/ - download drivers - correct notebook model - audio

If you have already installed some non-working-updates, try to uninstall KB888111 and Realtek HD Audio Codecs, reboot and start at the beginning.

Regards
Borkar

remark: Vista does not need any additional updates like the KB888111 in order to use HD audio chips.
Image ..... It works, if you do it right! ;)

Have it sorted! Problem was with the PCI modem. I had to install the older UAA Bus driver (not the KB888111), then PCI modem was picked up. After installing the drivers then the Sound Card was picked up...
