Help!
My own fault - this Vista laptop was running out of space and I saw that the only formatted partition was 50GB but the disk was 80GB.
So I used Acronis to attempt to delete the hidden partition (about 2gb) and merge then all the spare space into the C: drive.
There was an error during the Acronis DOS process and it failed - now the laptop won't boot from the disk. Just after the BIOS screen I see a single flashing cursor top l/hand corner and that is it.
Examining the disk using another laptop and USB connector it says there is one PRI,Act partition on the disk - but its 74+gb in size and the partition is full (?).
I tried using the rescue disks but can't get past the repair section where it wants me to find the hard disk driver on the CDs and load it. I have gone thru the rescue disks trying to find such a driver with no luck.
Any ideas anyone out there? I have spare disks etc but would very much not like to lose the data on the original drive.
