Recovery Disc Needed for v2060 with XP Home - Please help...

Postby Steven7 » Tue Jun 23, 2009 11:09 pm

Hi – I desperately need a Recovery Disc for my AMILO Pro V2060 which had XP Home installed. Please can you help?! I stupidly used Toni Arts - Easy Cleaner and now have damaged/lost system files and so need a Recovery Disc. Windows will not boot even in Safe Mode and I've tried to format the Boot drive but it won't work. I appreciate I’m clutching at straws asking for help on this one but if anyone has this laptop with XP Home installed and could make and copy me a Recovery Disc I'd be entirely grateful!!! I'll cover any costs.
Many thanks, Steve

Copying Windows CDs is forbidden by the EULA. You know that because if you use Windows you must have read and accepted it. So nobody will send you a copy of his disk.

However, you can use this how-to to integrate the needed drivers into your own Windows CD:

You have an Intel chipset. So here is how to get the SATA driver:

For the rest of the drivers have a look at this page:

Hi Hikaru - I didn't want a Window XP Home disc! (You are of course right to point out that would be highly illegal to copy such a programme for anyone.)

What I was looking for was a "Recovery Disc" which will have been 'made' by some users of this specific laptop. (I really wish I could find the one i made.) To be honest I don't know if it is illegal to share a recovery disc but I didn't think it would be because its a disc that a personal user can create to make all their software recoverable to their computers if they have a serious error. It would be useless to the users of any other laptop which isn't exactly the same model number.

I have licensed copies of XP Home & XP Professional which I can put on the laptop. Unfortunately these won't install because the C: Drive won't format. I therefore need a recovery disc.

If you have any further information or can confirm if sharing a recovery disc would be illegal please do get in touch.

Many thanks, Steven

If you are talking about a disk that results in a Windows OS if it is applied (I can't imagine any other meaning of "Recovery Disc"), then sharing this disk is forbidden by the EULA point 13 "Software Transfer".

So I see no problem. Did you follow the links in my last post (especially the first one)?
It's a common problem that a standard Windows CD can't find any hard drives.

Thanks for your suggestions I'll see if I can sort it out tonight after work,
