Mainboard replacements... wake up FSC!

Postby mrm » Sun Jun 28, 2009 9:25 pm

So, for a while now, the French Amilo 1538 users are getting their mainboards replaced for FREE (even after warranty expired). When will people in other countries get this opportunity too or do we need to make a lot of noise here too and spam our consumer federations to force Fujitsu into action?

P.S. Personally my 1538 still works - well, it kind of works. Booting becomes more troublesome as time progresses, usually have to let it be plugged into AC for a while before trying to boot - degradation of some components on the motherboard probably (capacitor etc ) - also can't even properly reboot it anymore, but I guess still lucky to even have a somewhat functioning mobo atm...

Can you post a link on this please? English would be best but french is ok too.
If it's a big deal it might be interesting for the german community as well.

As an addition to this.... I want to buy a replacement mainboard for my A1667G... does anyone know if this is possible? What manufacturer makes the mainboard?

PS I'm living in HK but bought it in London

I think the only way to get a new mainboard for the A1667 is to buy a defective A1667 on platforms like ebay and to hope that it's not the mainboard.

The manufacturer of the mainboard is Uniwill and the name of the mainboard is P50CA.
