Problem installing 64bit Li 3710

Postby JohanG » Sun Jul 12, 2009 1:06 am

Hello!

I have a Fujitsu Siemens with 4 gig ram, dual pentium core processor.. that model.
when i recieved it from my uncle it was Windows 7 32 bit on it, and i heard that i can only get out 4 gig ram from having 64 bit windows, so i went to a friend, borrowed 2 CD's, Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 and SP2.

They wont boot when i start up computer, i tried installing normal 32 bit windows vista and it worked.

Anyone got or had same problems like i had ?
Anything that i could do to get 64 bit windows? Or just stick with 32?
Because its 4 gig in it right? it says only 3gig when i check.

Most likely your BIOS doesn't support 64bit-CPUs because the first Intel Dual Cores were 32bit-CPUs.

I hope this was just for testing and you didn't really mean to install from these CDs!
