CPU problem on Xa 2528 12p with XP

Postby Complete_Zane » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:33 pm

I am having a problem with the CPU on my notebook. I have just installed Windows xp and have fixed all but one driver (it is a "unknown device") but then i installed a game (Star Wars: Republic Commando) and try to start it, it shuts down and says there is a problem with the game. I then start a system analyse and find out that the computer only goes with about 750 mhz when it should have 1.800 mhz.

Anybody know how to fixe this.

Sry for the misspelling.

It's a common bug of WinXP that it only shows the actual but not the possible CPU frequency. If you start two instances of the calcualor, compute the factorial (n!) of a big number like 999999 on both of them and check the frequency again you will see that it shows the correct 1.8GHz.

The missing device is most likely your RC sensor, the webcam or the card reader and has nothing to do with the CPU.

I have no idea why the game doesn't start.
