Amilo 1526 hard disc replacement

Postby bjorko » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:41 am

Hi, I've been trying to find solution on this forum for solving my problem but haven't found any so I here is my problem.

Got Amilo XI 1526 with hard disk 120 gb.
Blue screening now and then and after trying to go through system check on hard disk and still the same.
I decided to format the disk.
Made windows xp disk with sata drivers from xp-iso builder and started to format the disk.
When in 7% formatting the process just hang there for hours so I took the hard disk out of the amilo and connected it to another computer externally for formatting, but got the same 7% and then hanging there.

Bought new hard disk 250 gb and put it in the Amilo.
Fired up the Amilo with the xp made disk before but it does not boot from it and I can't go into the Bios either. F2 and F12 does not work.
Wondered if the 250 gb was to big for the Amilo so tried another hard disk 100 gb but got the same.
Tried the BIOS- and Hardware-Reset but only can do the second one since not getting in to the bios. - But got the same.

When firing up the Amilio, get the logo --> I press F2/F8/F12 computer pibs and tell me to wait but nothing happens other then I get black screen saying:

Press <F2> to enter SETUP, Press <F12> to enter Boot Menu

Can I one tell my how I can boot from the cd or what is wrong from the message on the screen (here in italic).

Kind regards

Maybe your HDD controller is broken. Can you boot without any HDD from a live-CD?
