Hello,
I had to do a complete Windows XP reinstall on my old workhorse here. It's been a long time since I did this last time and I had lost the original XP-recovery disc, so I went with another HOME Oem. After solving the legendary SATA - driver issue and getting the new XP to actually start, another "feature" came up;
Whenever I try to plug something to a USB port the laptop freezes immediately. If I keep it plugged on while starting up, it freezes during the windows load screen. The USB-ports worked before I formatted the old windows. It actually did the freezing thing during the install process, after the drivers needed for windows installation were loaded.
So I'm fairly sure this is not a hardware issue, my quess it there were incompatible USB/motherboard drivers on the XP i tried to install. Does anyone have any idea which drivers I should be updating?
