Default BIOS password for Xi 3650

Postby andreas » Sun Aug 23, 2009 3:23 pm

Hi here.
I have just bought an Amilo Xi 3650. But unfortunately when I wanted to enter to BIOS, I was asked with a password. In the manual, the password was not written. I tried three default combinations like 123, 111 and something like that, but afer that, my Amilo has said that it got locked.
Is there any "defaul" Amilo Xi 3650 BIOS password which will pass on any system? I guess there is. Or maybe someone can provide some other solution to my trouble. I need to login to BIOS and remove the password completely. It would be nice not to reset any data, if possible.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance!

There is no default BIOS password.
Probably somebody set a password (before or after you bought the laptop - is it a used laptop or brand-new, did it look like it was opened before?).

I bought it as new. But it was the last one available at the shop, so I guess this is the one which was presented in that shop for people to "play" with it. And maybe someone too smart put a passoword on BIOS, or it probably was some shop assistant who has done it.
So is there any way for me to remove the password without losing all my data on notebook? And probably to do it myself, without giving my notebook to service (it's inconvenient for me as I've bought it in other country)?

And..aspettl, would you be that kind to tell me: will my notebook "look" if I enter wrong BIOS password too many times (like PIN code on the mobile phones, which locks after 3 incorrect inputs)? Note that this is a password only on entrance to BIOS, not on loading OS.

Thanx for your help! :)

Big, big thanks to all who have replied.
I have solved my problem.
I have found a cool tool, which bruteforces passwords to BIOS's, which tell "System Disabled [5-digit-code]" after 3 tries of entering wrong password. You tell this 5-digit-code to the program, and it tells you passwords. It worked for me :)
http://rapidshare.com/files/260216097/bonus.rar here's link to download. Archive seems to be with password, and it's just "bios".

Again, thanks. Problem solved.
