Amilo 3520 - fan noise

Postby cepin » Sat Sep 05, 2009 10:35 pm

Hi,
I have just bought Amilo 3520 and I was very surprised that this computer produces so much noise. I tried to make some experiments and I found following example to explain the situation:
When I start the computer, everythink is O.K., the log window for Win XP appears. I do not log further but I wait and after several minutes
(typically 4 - 5 minutes), the fan is switched on and it begins to produce loud noise. Note that the computer is not loaded.
The fan is then switched on and it switches off only if the computer shutdowns.
The fan noise is very unpleasant and it is not possible to decrease it by the "throttling button". When you look at the screen from the distance of ten, fifteen cm, you hear noise very well. I can not imagine the listening of the music if the volume would be low.
Has someone similar experiences? Thanks for info.

Hello,

I have a 3650 and every once in a while the fan comes on fast for no reason, as soon as i reboot it works fine. I think we have the same problem.

I have a cpu monitor running at all times and when it happens my cpu is usually idleing so there is no reason for the fan to overspin the way it does.

Im sure my problem only started after i updated my bios and i dont think there is any way to go back to the original bios to test my theory, however i will keep trying to find a solution through the forums and if i find anything i will let you know.

Regards
