LI 2732 Wlan Ubuntu 9.10

Postby Nigge » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:15 pm

Hi i have a problem with my Ubuntu 9.10, i cant get my WLAN to work, (the function buttons dont work so i cant turn on the WLAN, i have tried a bunch of guides but i cant seem to get it to work,
i got it to work in Windows 7 by using a launch manager, but i guess that i havent got enough luck that there is a launch manager for Ubuntu?

Anyone got any tips for how to make the WLAN work?
I also have a wonder if its possible to turn on the WLAN in the bios, so that it is always on?
Thankfull for your help!

In earlier Ubuntu versions the acerhk script was necessary to make WLAN work for some Amilos. I have no experience with this script and don't know if it's still needed, but maybe you'll find something in the Ubuntu forums. Also watch out for topics concerning the more widely used Li 2727, it's nearly identical to the Li 2732.

I'm having a similar problem (again), I'm regretting trying the 9.10beta when my 9.04 was working fine :(
here's some links to how I got the the card switched on last time (which is the underlying problem).

ok, I gave up with 9.10 (until the proper release is out) and I ended up reinstalling 9.04 but then this link sorted me out

you can try this auto install script I have tested on an amilo Li1718 & may work for the Li2732 as well.
follow the instructions below:-

make sure you have your laptop connected to the net.
right click the link below and save the file to your home folder.

now open a terminal & type:

chmod 755 amilo-hk-lanon
sudo ./amilo-hk-lanon.sh
