How much RAM does an Amilo L7320GW Support

Postby wools » Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:54 pm

I've just bought 2 Kingston 1GB memory sticks but when installed, the laptop is only reporting 1GB of RAM. Similarly, if I just install 1 stick it reports 512mb. Even installing one of the new sticks alongside the original 512mb reports 1GB total. I'd been led to believe that this model supports 2GB in total. Anyone managing to do this? Any BIOS upgrades or settings needed?

Thanks. :?

I have the exact same problem with the L7320GW. After checking numerous sites it does support 2GB of RAM but the issue is whether the RAM you bought is 'high-density'. If so, it won't be supported by the motherboard. That's why windows is only recognising half of the newly installed RAM. The only solution I can think of is to buy 'low-density' RAM, but that still leaves you with two sticks of pretty much worthless RAM.

How can I find out if a RAM is high or low density?

Anyway what does that mean?

Sorry if the question seems to be stupid, but I'm really fed up with the "half infos" of .PDFs about amilo 7320.
Cheers.

Did you ever get this figured out? About to upgrade the RAM on my L7320GW and, although I'd prefer 2Gb, I don't wanna waste money if it can only handle 1Gb...
