Diagnosing Keyboard issues, help required please  Topic is solved

I have an A1650G laptop that has issues with the keyboard and touchpad. I appear to have a left Alt key that is permanently on and when I double click an icon it opens the shortcuts properties rather than starting the program. Also when I am in the BIOS I cannot access the menus using the cursor keys. I have used some keyboard testing software that shows quite a few keys are not working but I am not completely convinced that the issue lies with the keyboard. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else that would cause the same symptoms I am experiencing. I have a new keyboard on order so I am hoping that will fix the issue. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.
