Display trouble after upgrade

Postby pavar » Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:41 pm

Hello,
I own an Amilo Pro V2060 and recently had to change the HDD.
The system had a SATA 60Gb 5400rpm HDD, and i changed it with a SATA WD 160GB 7200rpm.
Since then, the bottom half of my display is gray while the rest works properly. I tried replacing the new HDD with a fujitsu 60GB 5400rpm from another Amilo Pro laptop but to no avail. I have been able to install windows xp, drivers, programs... and the display is still half-grayed out.
I run some extensive tests on the cpu, ram, mainboard, graphic chip, but i wasnt able to spot any issues. Since the problem keeps even if i switch to the old hdd (some bad sectors, but detected fine), i am reluctant to upgrade the bios.

Any suggestion would be vastly appreciated.

Thanks

I guess that either your graphics card or the display is broken. Can you test an external monitor?
