Any thoughts/help greatly appreciated!

No response to power button at all =(
+ I also doubt that it's because of the mouse, but the timing was perfect.. laptop went down just after the mouse was plugged in.
gezasore wrote:Ok , this is what i will do in your position:
1. Try to press and hold power button for a while (3-5 sec.) Mine l1310g also not works by simply pressing once, need to hold for about ~3sec.
2. Try to remove battery if there is one on your notebook, and run only on AC power, or conversely.
3. Maybe there is something inside that not allows to start pc like dust or smtng like that, open back lid and clean it. I clean my pc regulary.
4. If it is like you say, its definitely not software problem.
5. You said "laptop switched off after a usb mouse was plugged in". Does it switched of regularly, or there was Blue Screen of Death, or suddenly dark screen appeared, what happened?
6. What is that damn model of the mouse you plugged in?
Thank you for the reply but...
1. Did not work
2. Did not work
3. Afraid of breaking something else inside.. + laptop was kept quite clean & tidy
4. Definitely
5. Dark screen + fading buzzing sound. Never happened before
6. Some generic mouse, no logo on it x__x
+ noticed that mouse cord is squashed quite badly in one spot, but it did work fine before and I don't recall squashing it recently..
++ also, up until now the external power indicator did light up when AC was plugged in. Not anymore.. no sign of life whatsoever.
