Ultimate upgrade of Amilo Pi2540 question.

Postby dj_mafiozo » Mon Nov 09, 2009 6:44 pm

Hi everyone.
I wanna upgrade my Amilo Pi2540.
Now it's such like that:

Mainboard: Fujitsu-Siemens F45 (North Bridge: Intel PM965, South Bridge: Intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME), Socket P (478))

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60GHz (Core: Merom, Socket P (478), Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, ET64, XD, EST, 12.1x133MHz, FSB 532,0MHz, No. of Cores: 2)

RAM: 2xSamsung 1GB DDR2 (PC2-5300) 667MHz 64Bit.

GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 (0x94C9) 256 MB RAM, 400 MHz.

OS: Linux openSuSE 11.1 x64 (myCompile Kernel), Original Microsoft Windows 7 Professional PL x64 from MSDN.

On 12 or 13 November (11 is national holyday in Poland - Independance Day) gonna buy RAM:

2 x Kingston SO-DIMM DDR2 2 GB (Dual: No, 800 MHz, CAS: 5, ECC: No, ECCR: No, Radiator: No).
93,00 PLN for one (it's about 22.01 EUR), two of them gonna cost 186,00 PLN (44.02 EUR).

Know that's best RAM I can put into this Laptop, so my questions comes about other stuffs.

And here comes my questions 'd like ask:

1. And wanna ask u what CPU could I put onto those MBoard. Someone told me, that it should run Mobile Intel Core2Duo about 2,0-2,5. Is it right? (Witch exacly T-xxxx)

2. Is it possible to put Desktop CPU to Laptop?

3. What GPU could I put into this Laptop?

4. If someone would know, what GPU of them shold be supported by MacOS X 10.5.8 Leopard and MacOS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (iHackintosh like iPC, iDeneb... ;) Couse with ATI HD 2400 is a problem...)

According to the datasheet the T8100 is the fastest CPU you can insert. However, since the specifications are the same I guess that the T8300 will work too.
The datasheet also mentions the T7250 so maybe even the T7800 will work. But that's just a speculation since I have no idea if the BIOS will detect it correctly.

Allready didn't buy yet a CPU cause looking for one from Wrocław (even if it'd be more expencive, cause I'd have it the same day.
Found T7500: http://allegro.pl/item899607088_intel_t ... 00_gw.html

Would be working in Pi2540?

BTW. Where one could find the datasheet for Amilo Pi2540? Could someone give the direct link towards?

I can't tell you for sure since the T7500 is not listed in the datasheet, but according to the specs this specific T7500 you linked should work.

Here is a datasheet of the Pi 2540:
http://docs.ts.fujitsu.com/dl.aspx?id=e9f5aeae-f1d6-456b-9563-08565b8d4855
The easiest way to find it is simply to feed google with pi 2540 datasheet and to take the first PDF that's listed in the results.
