Amilo M3438G & Windows 7 Fan issue

Postby BexBissell » Thu Nov 19, 2009 8:37 pm

Hi,

I have just installed Windows 7 to my M3438G but no mather what I do I can't make the fan to slow down.

I'm guessing it's because of Nvidia Go 6800 driver as there where problems with XP when using some driver versions.

I have tried 5-8 different drivers from Fujitsu-Siemens website, laptopvideo2go.com and few others including one offered by Windows 7 automatic update but none have fixed the issue.

On XP the fan problem sometimes concurred when Nvidia service in My Computer -> manage -> Services didn't start but that's not helping on Win 7.

I have also tested Notebook Hardware Control & Rightmark CPU Utility to adjust powersaving plans but no help. Using the second one I can make the fan to slow down a bit but not even close to what it does on XP which is weird. Also my BIOS is up to date.

regards

Jouni

As far as I know, there is no solution to this problem.

In the German forum I read today that denisych has bought a Geforce 8600M GT, because he couldn't get the fan silent (with the 6800): http://www.amilo-forum.de/topic,28186,3 ... ml#p184147
(That's no real solution, of course...)
