Amilo li 2727 screen dead but is it the motherboard

Postby Jamies » Tue Dec 01, 2009 11:39 am

Ok so my mums friend has asked me to look at her laptop.
When switched on and plugged in i get a solid green status light and the battery status is sold orange. The screen is completely dead and i get no audible beeps. it doesnt sound seem like wnidows is booting as the only disk activity led i get is when it is first turned on it seems to check the dvd drive. So now i'm not sure if i shud replace the motherboard or the LCD screen. Does anyone have any advice on how i cud check these??

Thanks

I don't think it's the screen.
Did you already try the hardware reset (in this case: remove battery and power supply, wait some time)? Did you try to start without the battery - or only with the battery? Are there any external devices connected?

Hi i unplugged both battery and mains adapter and left it for 15 mins. I also tried to run it with just the mains adapter in but got the same result. I'm pretty sure its the motherboard. Do you know where i can find a dissassembly guide?

No external devices connected

thanks

Unfortunately, no - there are no official guides.
