V3515 CPU Upgrade

Postby CAPTAINSOSSIGE » Thu Dec 10, 2009 8:12 am

Hi All,

I have a V3515 1.86 celeron M... Is it possible to do a straight swap with a T2060 1.6 dual core processor...?

Thanks - these 1.6 dual cores are so cheap I thought it might be worth a go...

Will I notice much performance improvement..? Also, the cpu isn't soldered to the MB is it...?

I don't know if you'll notice any difference. It depends on how much multitasking capabilities you need. If you sometimes feel that you can't work fluently because some other process occupies your CPU you will feel a big difference. But if this is not the case and you just want to have a faster system you won't notice any change.

It's a socket CPU, so no soldering.

Maybe this will be helpful:

But is it due to the CPU? A slow system might also be a consequence of too little RAM.
