VGA connector causes crash?

Postby magellan » Tue Dec 15, 2009 10:12 am

I have the Amilo Pa 1510, and recently decided to use the VGA connector (instead of the S-video I've been using for 2 years) to get better resolution on my Samsung 32" LCD.

But when I plug in the cable (both with and without the Samsung plugged in at the other end), it just crashes like I've never seen before. Everything just shuts off. Even the battery indicator lamp stays off until a few seconds after I remove the cable from the socket.

Unfortunately I don't have another computer or cable to test the issue with... Any ideas?

This sounds like a short circuit. You should try another cable (lend it from a friend or ask in a computer store) to see if it is due to your cable or due to the VGA plug of your notebook. If it's the cable replace it!
