Help - AMILO Li1705

Postby dealrocker » Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:00 pm

I have an AMILO Li1705. It was working pretty fine, but for a last couple of days I have been a problem. When I switch the laptop on the fan kicks in and the lights come on but nothing comes up on the screen. I asked a local computer repair shop and they said the graphics card has gone. Then I took it to a friend, he removed the RAM and hard drive, and then put it back in. After that it worked fine for a bit and it stopped working again. Can't figure out whats the exact problem.

Please help me to fix this problem.

Your graphics card uses shared memory of your main RAM. Therefore a defective RAM might look like a broken graphics card.
If you have two RAM modules remove one of them and try to boot. If this works check the module for some hours with memtest86+ to see if it's really ok. Then try the same with the other module. Most likely one of them is broken.

If you have only one module get another one and try the same with this module!
