Amilo L7320GW Memory problem

Postby stroller01 » Sun Jan 03, 2010 1:12 pm

Hi

I cannot get my Amilo L7320GW to boot it just gets so far and then starts all over again.
I have disabled the auto reboor and I have the error message now which seems to suggest corrupt memory.

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
0x0000004E

I know this is a really dumb question b ut I've just spent 3 hours on the web trying to find out where the memory is on this machine.
I know very little about this and don't want to break something else trying to fix what might be a simple problem.

Can anybody please tell me where to look and how to get at the memory.
Thanks

Hi Aaron

Thanks for the photo.

I took out the top memory and rebooted it beeped 3 times and that was it just a blank screen.
I swapped the memory chips around witg various permutations and now it wont do any thing.
screen remains blank.
The power light comes on and the hard light flashes a couple of times it tries to boot from the CD -Rom & thats it !

I know we changed the order of boot to be CD Rom first to see if we could get past the boot up problem.

It seems to try the CD Rom now and then give up.

Could I have dameged the screen by sswapping the memory round or booting with just one memeory stick in ?

I hadn't bedded in the the top memory stick properly DOH !.

Back to original problem... several hours later !

Disable auto restart which gives us chance to read the error message

Are you sure that your memory is inserted correctly now?
Please test it with memtest!

You can get it with nearly every Linux-Live-CD (you might need one anyway for further tests) or here:
