Battery Critically low?

Postby sebroberts » Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:56 pm

Hello,

My laptop has been playing up for a while now, I keep getting the charger 'beep' sound like there is a loose connection or the charging adapter is broken. I bought a new charger, but I was still getting the same loose connection and the laptop will not charge unless the cable is wiggled a bit for it to find a good connection.

Yesterday, while using my laptop it just shut down. The light was on on the charger so I was sure that was working ok. When I start up the laptop I just get a message saying "Battery critically low" and nothing else will happen. I have tired taking the battery out and just running off the plug, but even that does not help.

Does this mean that the laptop is useless? or does anyone know what could be causing this?

Any information/advice would be fantastic.

Kind regards,

Sebastian.

I might also just like to add, a couple of weeks ago a hissing noise started occasionally coming from the charging socket in the laptop I'm guessing that could also have had something to do with the problem?

Most laptops work without the battery. Which model do you have?

Aaron, thank you for your reply.

The laptop does not do anything when its plugged in without the battery, no charging light or anything.
