Hello All, new member here.
Found this site while trying to research the problem I'm having with my laptop. Started one day while browsing the internet and the screen just when whiteish/brown hew, faded away and went dim.
After contacting several supply people regarding the lcd panel I've so far replaced the inverter and the panel. Now while the panel is not the exact same make/model as the original, ie a Samsung, it's a Phillips 1400 X 900. What happens is when the lap top boots, I see the bios display, and can go into the bios no problem. When it gets to booting xp I get the initial splash screen the just before the OS comes up it goes blank (dark). The output to an external monitor is fine and the back light can be seen on the panel okay, just no Operating System display. It does how ever display the boot up process no problems.
Does this sound like a duff inverter or maybe inverter not matched to the power requirement of the new screen, ie it blanks out when asked to show full resolution?
Regards
