Change fan in the Amilo Pi 2540 series

Postby bookie56 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 10:25 am

Hi folks :D

I see that there are other threads about this model but just didn't want to highjack someone else's thread!

I have the above laptop and was wondering if there is schematics for changing a fan in this model? Done a bit of searching but find no threads about this model and if you can change the fan...

Would appreciate any help I can get on this matter!

No, we have no schematics of the Pi 2540. The fan is replaceable like in almost all notebooks. Maybe this requires to unmount the heat sink and to renew the thermal paste but since I don't know how the Pi 2540 looks from the inside I can't tell you. If you open the service door on the underside you should see if this is necessary.
