Does anybody know how many pcie slots have the amilo li1718? Is it just one for the wi fi card?

I was considering that too, like many others did. But if you google for it you will find that the netbook SSDs that seem to be the obvious solution aren't actually using the PCI-e protocol, but PATA or SATA instead. That problem exists indeed, but it's overestimated. MLCs stand 100000 write cycles, SLCs even 1 mio. And wear leveling takes care that the write accesses are spread over multiple cells, so that the same cell isn't written again and again.
