Blue screen on XP-SP3 when plugging usb

Postby Cyjack » Mon Mar 08, 2010 12:24 pm

F-S amilo si 1520, win xp sp3
when I'm plugging any usb device, like usb-flash or camera, I'm getting blue screen.
I already tried to reinstall chipset drivers with latest version, and tried to reinstall windows.

If I turning off "Intel(R) N10/ICH7 Family USB2 Enchnced Host Controller" in devices list, windows dont stops with blue screen. But usb devices workn't correct - usb flash run on low speed and camera dont work at all.

Maybe you can have a look at your computer's usb interface ,or change another one .

What is the blue screen telling you?
Most likely there is some memory access error in some software you have installed (driver for bluetooth mobile, scanner, camera etc.). I'd suggest to install Windows again with only the drivers provided by FTS, then test your USB ports. If this works you know that it's not a fault of the notebook itself. Afterwards install your driver software bit by bit and keep checking if USB still works correctly. This way you should be able to identify the problematic software and can look for a specific bugfix.
