Realtek HD Audio (ALC861) Volume control (Amilo PI 1505)

Postby Bombaci » Sun Oct 29, 2006 1:44 am

Hello i have installed Windows XP Pro on the laptop (It was a horror)
but i installed it finally (If someone wants a tutorial i will make it for him and post it ask if you want that)

But let's go to the problem:

I have installed the sound driver Realtek HD Audio Driver r1.47, the sound is working but:

1. I can't control it with the keyboard
2. The overall sound does not work
3. I have to change it with the Wave slide setting in order to lower the sound.

Here is what i tried:

I uninstalled the driver and tried the driver on the Siemens site.
Result:
The same problem

I have tried to reset the laptop a couple of times
Result:
Still no work.

Problem solved

When you want to install the driver first install a update from Microsoft If you allready installed your driver uninstall it and restart your laptop after he has been restarted you install the hot-fix

Hot-Fix URL:
http://download.fujitsu-siemens.com/Dow ... CBCFDCD88F

After that install the newest Realtek driver again and the problem is solved.

Driver URL:

The notebook got a Realtek HD Audio Chip based on the HD bus of the Intel Southbridge.
In order to install the Realtek Audio Codec driver, you must install the HD bus driver first. Otherwise Windows cannot detect the HD Audio Codec.
The driver for the audio bus on the south bridge is provided by Microsoft and it is contained in the KB888111.

After installing the KB888111 containing the HD bus driver, you can install Realtek HD audio codec driver and modem driver.

KB888111 is included in the Realtek HD audio codec package and should be installed automatically if necessary. However, sometimes it doesn't work so that you have to install it manually. You must make sure that you install the right version of the KB888111. In detail: you must install the right language version and also KB888111_for_SP2 if Servicepack 2 installed (which is strongly recommended).

KB888111 is not included in a "normal" Windows Setup CD and must be installed additionally.
It is also not included in Update-Packs etc.

I hope that helps understanding the technique.

Hi,
I have an amilo pro v3505. I had the same problems, and i installed the microsoft update. After that I was able to install the sound driver, but after the installation, nothing happens. I restart the system, and the sound driver appears in the installed applications list, but I can't hear anything and windows media player and winamp, both give me an error when I'm tryying to play a file. Do you have any idea, what the problem could be?

Yes, that was the problem. In the device manager I had a PCI device with a yellow exclamation sign. I removed the device and reinstalled it, and now it's everything ok. When i uninstalled the pci device i hat to reinstall the windows update, and after that the sound card. It's working now.
Thanks for your replay anyway!

Tried all above but still no audio

Postby digiteq » Sun Jan 28, 2007 1:18 pm

Hello,

I installed xp pro sp2 on my 1505. But I get no audio.
When I install KB888111, the "pci device" goes away from my "device manager".
If I try to install the audio driver afterwards I get no errors but still no audio card in media player.
I already installed xppro twice from scratch.

Any suggestions?

if you are using Vista, just reinstall the drivers that you can find on FSC's website. The servers are working again.
